Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by Eternitive Ceremonies, operated by James McCoy as a sole trader. By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch.

2. Service Description

Eternitive Ceremonies offers non-legal, personalised ceremonies for weddings, funerals, and other life events. As an independent celebrant, James McCoy does not perform legally binding marriages. Clients are responsible for arranging any legal formalities separately (e.g. via a registrar).

3. Booking and Payment

Fees will be clearly discussed and agreed upon in writing before any work begins. A deposit may be required to secure your date, with the balance due before the ceremony unless otherwise agreed.

Late payments may result in a delay or cancellation of the service. All prices are listed in GBP (£).

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as early as possible. Deposits may be non-refundable if substantial work has already been undertaken. In cases of emergency or serious illness, we will do our best to accommodate changes or offer an alternative arrangement.

5. Client Responsibilities

To ensure your ceremony is personal and meaningful, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and timely information.

  • Respond to key communications.

  • Approve drafts and details in a timely manner.

You are responsible for securing the venue and ensuring appropriate permissions are in place for the ceremony.

6. Creative Content

All scripts and ceremony content are created specifically for you and remain the intellectual property of James McCoy. You may keep a copy for personal use but may not reproduce or publish the material without permission.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

All personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Notice. Any sensitive or private information you choose to share will be treated with respect and confidentiality, unless disclosure is required by law.

8. Limitation of Liability

While we take every care in preparing and delivering your ceremony, Eternitive Ceremonies is not liable for delays or disruptions outside our control, including weather, illness, or third-party issues (e.g. venue problems). If an emergency prevents James from officiating, we will seek to find a trusted replacement where possible.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
